Goodbye 2007

Hello 2008!
With the new year brings New Years resolutions. I always say I will..., but I rarely hold true to them. Last year I said I would scrap more, and that I did. I took three different weekends away with friends and got quite a few pages completed. The last scrap trip was with The Scrappery. It was the perfect weekend for scarpping, as it was cold and wet. Although, I think I ate more than I scrapped. The food was so good, I can't wait for the next retreat.

I have made many new scrapping friends this year, the Gals at the Scrappery, my 2 Peas Pixies friends and just other people along the way. In fact, just last night I was scrapping with my favorite scrappin' friends. Six hours sure goes by fast. I can hardly wait to get together again. I do hope that in the next few days I can manage to drag out all my stuff and get creative. I think last year's goal was a page a week. Well I managed to create at least 52 pages this year. So, I will say I met my goal.

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays to all my friends. Saturday was a wonderful day. We had so many close friends and their families present. Who would have thought that I could get over 45 people in our home. I do wish I had been able to chat longer with each and every person.

The last few days have been quite hectic with all of the hustle and bustle of preparing for Santa's big visit. So many last minute things to be done, gifts to buy, gifts to wrap and then there is the coordinating of gifts to be exchanged. I do love this time of year and all the hectic frenzy it brings.

Christmas Eve is something my family looks forward to. Each year we go out for a nice dinner and then a movie. It helps to pass the time. Usually finding a good movie is easy. This year however the jury is still out. The kids want to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, I prefer to see National Treasure or The Golden Compass. In the past, we have seen, The Polar Express, The Pursuit of Happiness, The Lion,the Witch and the Wardrobe, and my favorite, Monster's Inc. I guess dad will have to make the final decision. As long as we are all together, it really doesn't matter.

So again, happy holidays to all my friends. May your holidays be filled with love, happiness and cheer.

Gobble Till You Wobble

That's my motto. I love this time of year. There are so many yummy foods to make and eat. I love to bake! My friends and co-workers are always willing to be guinea pigs. This time of year I make a lot of pumpkin cobbler, cheesecakes, pumpkin pie, cookies, fudge, and cake balls. Everyone has their favorites. So, what is your favorite holiday ymmy?

Bunco

Last night Bunco was at my house. I wasn't the big winner or the biggest looser last night. IF you've never played, don't worry it is super easy. THere is absolutley no skill involved, unless you are keeping score for your table. All you need to be able to do is roll the 3 dice and look for the correct number you are hoping to roll. The group I play with has been playing for about three years. Most of us are teacher, the rest work at a school or have worked at a school, or know someone who works at a school. All of us are moms, this gives us another common ground. I always make too much food, but leftover dessert is the best.
So if you ever get the chance to play, do it, all you have to loose is five bucks.

Life...

Life in general is great. it is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away and yet I still don't know who will be coming to dinner. I don't always like having to spend the holidys aways from my home. I like to be able to relax, bake and just hang out in my own home. I do love having people overf during the holiday season. Having company gives me the excuse to bake, decorate and spruce up my home. Currently, i'm waiting for the arrrival of my new rug and our new weindow. We still haven't picked tile for the bathroom, but maybe this week. I just want it done now. So, who else is fixing their place up for the holidays?

Bodega Bay

Last weekend, I spent 3 fabulous days with 14 other scrapbookers. Yes, 15 women total, 2.5 bathrooms, 5 beds, 3 couches and several airobeds. We had enough scrapbook supplies to make any scrapbook store owner drool. If you needed, someone had it. The weather was cold and wet the first two days, then cleared up and was absolutely gorgeous. The food of course was in abundance. If you were hungry, it was your own fault. Jenny and Debbie made us feel like we were at Starbucks, whipping us up vanilla lattes and mochas with their fancy machines. Our hostess Heather made our retreat fun and relaxing. I can't wait to go again. I'm not sure if I can wait a whole year though (hint...hint).

Rain and 60 kids ...

Yesterday, I took my class along with the other two 3rd grade classes to the Tolay Regional Park. They were having a fa;; festival. It was great except for the fact that it was raining. The entire event is outdoors, under canopy tents. They had different stations that the kids could rotate through- carding and spinning wool, planting a seed, painting a pumpkin, and making a candle. Unfortunately we all couldn't fit under these tents. We were troopers, we even went on the hay ride, making raincoats out of plastic garbage bags. The adults were smart, though, we placed the plastic bags under us, so not to get our rear-ends wet. In the end, we decided to call it a day, trudge back through the mud puddles to our bus and head back to school early. We were soaked all the way through by then and were anxious to get back to the classrooms where we could turn the heater to 85 and thaw out and dry off.
